I Am Funemployed

I got this cool word "funemployed" from one of thought catalog's trending articles. It could mean, "it's fun being employed" or "where's the fun being unemployed?"
Whatever that is, it would be much interesting to write about putting F next to being unemployed.

Being unemployed makes you broke, lessens your self-esteem, and worst, makes you think your worthless. This is what over thinking gets you. It might lead to depression when not handled positively. It came to me. Someone told me I am so used to it that job hopping was my thing. I'm not proud about it. Unemployment happens not only by choice, but also by chance. The only thing that you have to do is to face it and take it as a challenge.

Make a liFe

There's a saying. "Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life."
Don't get so preoccupied with your work. It's your break. It's your time to unwind and go to your home town.

Go back to your First love
Having a break from your monotonous job will allow you to think and see things outside the box. I'm talking about your passion. What do you really like doing? What is it that will make you boast about your hardwork?

Be craFty
Boredom pushes you to do things that will make yourself busy. You are your own boss, no one will push you to do a certain task. This is your time to sit and make your own craft. It could be a new song, a new design concept, a new shirt to print, a new DIY project, a photograph, a new story to tell, a delicious food to share..whatever your mind drives you to unwind. Do it. Who knows? Your hobby could be your next career.

Know about Fuchsia
Stop suggesting to change the color to red when someone asked you to spell it, spell it out. I'm out of F words here. What I'm trying to say is, you'll have time to learn more things. It's ok to gain few facts and new thoughts from what you read online. But are you sure that those things you read are beneficial for your growth? Stop wasting your time on social media sites or browsing unnecessary news for the sake of chismis.
Get Fat
Sorry that's a fact. You have all the time to open your fridge and load up your belly while watching your favorite flicks. Another thing is, you have the pleasure of sleeping all day..unlimited. What a bummer! Don't abuse these privileges. Exercise and stay fresh.

Know your true Friends
Being broke reveals your true friends. Who stays there for you when you're alone? Who still ask you out? At this point of your life, you need a friend you can depend on. Not only for financial purposes, but for just having someone that will encourage you, help you out and pray for you.

Exercise your Faith
In all aspect of your life, faith will take you far. He will open a door somewhere else. Let God be God. He knows exactly what He is doing. He is ready and able to help you as long as you respond to him with faith.

Redefine your Fulfillment
Look at the other areas of your life aside from work. How's your relationship with your family, friends, church and with God? Sometimes you need to evaluate yourself. Get back on your track and align your life towards your goal.

Receive Favor.
God has a perfect plan in your life. He gives you his best when you trust and live your life to him. He favors you out of his deep, abiding love for you, a love that is not contingent upon any effort you put forth. Wait for it. Your next job is already waiting for you.

Whatever October

lean back

Expectation. It's a strong belief that something will happen or someone will achieve something in the future. If you have expected something or someone in the future, then you are growing.
The process of expecting is a no brainer, we are so used to it. On the positive side, it builds your character. You keep your grips on believing that this "thing" will happen as soon as you can imagine it to be. The longer it takes, the more your eagerness, your hope, and faith grows deeper.
In reality, not all expectations fall into place. It comes or it fails.
Yes, some of my expectations didn't turned out the way I wanted it to be. My September ended by the abrupt change of things that matters to me. It ended worst than I've thought. Crap.
Still, I'm expecting greater things will come my way. Whatever October brings, I would still choose to be more expectant for I know that God has greater things ahead of me.

All things fail, but Him? Never.

Before June Ends

After months of watching french films..sleeping all day..eating like a pig..burning hours on the internet..taking self-portraits..selling old clothes..playing dead whenever mom gets home..missing kinsenas and katapusan..adapting dog gestures..re-arranging home furniture..fetching my brothers to school..planning our daily menu..replacing pillow cases..cooking like a monster and so on just to avoid boredom,
Finally, I got a new job! ^_^

Before it happened, I did a freelance job. It was work from home. Worked as a fashion writer for a website. It's a blessing! I'm still earning. But I guess its not effective for me..yet. Maybe just the fact that I like going out and meeting new people and seeing things changing everyday. And also, whenever I see my bed, I got magnetized easily. (that's the reason why I called my bed "magneto" and same reason why I seldom meet my deadlines)

I asked God if that's what He really wanted for me.
I prayed and sought for His answer.
It was never easy.
It was truly a test of patience, trust, and faith.

"Under His learning process is not a waste of time."

Aside from daily devoted time for meditation soaking into God's presence, my notes from our church pastors also guided me to set my perspective right under His will.
keep eternity in mind

It came just in time when I felt my mind, body and whole being is ready to get on the game again. To my surprise, I got two job offers. (magandang problema).
Both companies made an inclusive attachment to me -same suits my interests, nearer workplace and they're equally nice. They brought me to confuzzledness. (feeling confused + puzzled). Again, prayed which one will I choose. His will never fails.
Now, I'm currently working as a copywriter for an Advertising Agency. =)

"One way to make the most of your life is to keep eternity in mind."

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." -Romans12:2

It only takes a stronghold of faith to start anew. A leap of faith to hold on what you believe in, will make your desires come to past.

Embracing Changes

Unexpected things happen for a reason. It can be from random situations like on your regular work days, during the rush hour on the road, while reading the news feed on facebook, killing time on bookstores, watching people how they walk, listening songs to your iPod on repeat, eating your favorite ice cream, or in anything you normally do that molds your lifestyle on a daily basis.

What stops you from your normal routine? It's simply losing it.

I find myself unprepared for what happened to me lately. It attacked my career. It suddenly stopped my daily motion. Yes, its unbearable and I should be saddened about it, but I don't know why I'm still at ease and grateful for what happened to me.

What is my source of joy?

"The source of joy defines your action and reaction. We lose our joy when we lose our source." I got this truth from Grace Manilao's preaching. One of her points was letting God be our source of joy. It is placing your joy to the one that never fails and gives you fullness of it. It was very timely..before the unexpected happened, I've already kept it on my grip and placed my source intact. :)

"If you do what you've always done, you are going to get what you've always gotten."

Maybe its a wake up call to change my routine and start doing what is rightfully made for me. I am not pretty sure where, when and how will I start doing it..whatever it is, I'm excited for greater things along the way.

"When you stop chasing the wrong things, you give the right things a chance to catch you."

You just have to stop in order to start all over again and keep your life on track. Just completely put your trust in Him. Embrace changes wholeheartedly and get ready to be moved.

Mark Ruperto as 미스터 심플

Mark Ruperto page 1 page 2 page 3 page 4
I know..its very Kpop. The original plan of the shoot was supposed to be grungy, vintage and laid back, but it turned out to be the opposite. Mark’s natural killer smile is inevitable. He shams this look simply effortless. I was thinking of a good title and then I heard this song. lols

Based on Experience

I wonder why this morning I have this urge feeling to replace my desktop wallpaper. I just found it on Pinterest then casually set it as background. Then suddenly something unexpected came up, something that requires me to burst out my tears whenever my feet draw me. I always thought that a ½ pint pistachio ice cream and a pair of vanilla ice cream cone can easily release that heavy feeling but it’s not enough. I have to let go of my tears and keep going. After the freak-release momentum, I returned back to office..sit back..breathe..unlock my computer..loading..and there goes my desktop.

“Keep your head up, keep your heart strong”.

Everything has a purpose, that urge to replace my desktop wallpaper is not an accident. Funny how God moves in mysterious ways.
Based on experience.

Solution for Consecutive Days of Tardiness

Old School alarm clock vibrates terribly and its ring sinks to your ears. It forces you to get up and throw it down wherever your hands would go. lols. Cellphone alarm spoils you by its tempting snooze feature. It allows you to take a quick nap in minutes -using it to the extent and making it a habit results to tardiness.
What would happen if you combine the two?

Here's the combination of old school and modern living. If you really cant get rid of your iPhone or iPod, you can choose this very interesting Retro Dock alarm clock. Personalize your ringtone alarm and be awaken with its full-range stereo speakers. The app is for free. It also works as a charger, has built in 5 day weather forecast and sleep timer. You can watch movies too with this dock. It has a 90 degrees rotate feature for more comfy streaming. Hands up to our new generation innovators like Steve Jobs.

Kick your butt off and be an early bird.
Rise and Shine. ^_^

Pepe as Japanese Gangstah

Aside from missing the people with grounded uniqueness of personalities and diverse character of each individual that I worked with -from artists, proofreaders, writers to team leaders, I also missed the weekday costume events at Yell Adworks.

If only mind could talk...

I will be one of the noisiest women alive.

This happens to me during travel times especially on the bus or wherever you see my face blank.
I am more observant to things that are extremely interesting like the three blonde kids flock together like birds. Even the not so interesting things like the busted light on the street sign, a slipper left in the middle of the highway, random posters of shampoo ads, or ads with smiling models with blackened tooth, or sloppy graffiti catches my attention.

When I was in college, our professor told us to keep on looking at the billboard ads. It’s a mind exercise for advertising students which allows you to get familiar about creating one, knowing what’s missing and how to improve it.

Surrounded with numerous ads on the road makes my average 10,000 words in a day wasted. These things were not insults or whatever, just opinions.

What do you get from that?
New ideas.

It can be good or bad, can be inspiring or not.
Just let your mind flow and discover what your creative mind could do.

Top 10 favorable things

At work, I keep on writing top rated products, top tips, top advice, top recommended brands and everything on top including cherries. lols. One hiatus moment before writing, I came to realize to create mine this time.

1.Vanilla Ice cream
I dont know how vanilla ice cream easily revamps my mood and brings me to spring time while white chocolate bars with almonds brings me to summer.

2.Balloons
Seems to be one of the significant things that is necessary for birthdays to make it a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
It gives me a light feeling that signifies freedom and happiness.

3.Colors
Although my favorite color is purple, seeing colorful stuffs combined like these easily caught my attention.
Wear anything with colors and be noticed.

 3.Stars
Is only a shape were many quotations are made. They say people who likes stars are idealistic.
I guess I am but it doesn't apply to all things. I just want anything related to stars.

 4.Playing the guitar
Is a sacred thing for me. It is my devotion for my Saviour and Refuge. As a matter of fact, Durango (name of my guitar) has been with me since I was 14.

5.Taking photographs
I am passionately in love taking images. Its just amazing how simple photos can easily bring you to that place and moment, mentally. It started as a hobby, a hobby turned into passion then turned into career. Taking portraits of different people is my major.

6.Messy hair
Maybe an excuse for those who are lazy combing their hair or taking much time in the mirror was not a priority. But a natural, spring colored, soft wavy curls and laid down hair on like what the hippies and bohemians have is a gift. Embrace messy hair but not smelly hair.

 7.Shoes
The shoes defines your character. Based on my opinion Chucks are said to be for rockers, Stilettos are for chics, Running shoes for sporty, Loafers for workaholics, Flats for comfort-freak, Pumps for posh, Platforms for the artists. Just buy shoes when you see yourself wearing it.

8. Keeping scriptures
Devote time for meditation everyday. It is more than a power nap can do. It does not only makes your day, it makes your LIFE. Always be on your track and be reminded of God's promises.

 9.Writing random things
My handy dandy notebook is almost full of random thoughts. This hobby helps me to achieve what I am right now. From poems, preaching, cries, wishes, hopes, drafts, quotes to whatever gives me inspiration. I write it all.

10.Listening to contemporary, indie, ambient music
Allows you go to the largest nation called IMAGINATION.

Hope you enjoyed it. Share yours too. :)

The Biking Experince

from women of sartorialist

I miss biking around the city streets. Going on circles, chasing with dogs and catching the wind, were some of the things that made me feel alive and free. I wish I can go anywhere along with my bike again. I imagine going to work, to the nearest grocery shop, nearest parks, coffee shops, library and
taking pictures without fear. I want to live in a place where they normally practice biking freely doing it wherever and whenever they want.

Let's move to Amsterdam. :)

Still expecting great things

Today is Monday. I am so recharged, so ready and so excited for what my week would be.
and having this vibe.
by: Olly Moss

It started fine.
I did my meditation..was singing songs..very hopeful and merry.

On my way to work, the bus conductor pisses me off. I will never tell why.
I was just late because of him.
I tried shaking it off and just set my mind for tomorrow.
Then I saw this.

Brooke Fraser in Manila CANCELLED?? oh shoot.. I just purchased my ticket last friday to secure my seat and I was really looking forward to meet Brooke Fraser. She is just only one of my most favorable influence. Ouch.

People feel bad and in response act worse which results in them feeling bad. – Ian Gustafson

I will not let this feeling linger. God never fails in surprising me.
Im still expecting great things on my way.

He loves me KNOT

Longlocks adds definition to every girl’s femininity. To maintain your crowning glory, you should take care and take time to protect your hair. Shampooing and conditioning regularly makes your hair manageable. I don’t have enough time to fix my hair and spend time in front of the mirror before going to work every day. A one time comb-after-bath throughout the day is enough for me and that’s it. I was thinking of how to fix my hair without any hassle that would not take much of my time, until I found this.

The greatest therapy

Sleeping is my greatest therapy.  It gives you rest, gives you relief and it is refreshing.

The feeling of sleepiness when you are not in bed, and can't get there, is the meanest feeling in the world.  ~Edgar Watson Howe

I can sleep 12 hours in a day or more or even the whole day. Soft white blanket embraces me, my favorite pillows lean on me, sweet scents from my sheets relaxes me. I'll wait for the moon waves goodbye, until the stars lose their spark.

Zzzzz..

Alarm sets at 5 snoozes. Oh what a day!
It’s always such a lovely experience every time I woke up from long hours of sleep.

Start your day with meditation to keep your life on track.

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book.  ~Irish Proverb

Here’s a playlist that can revamp your day.

  1. Make it Mine - Jason Mraz
  2. Mr. Blue Sky – Electric Light orchestra
  3. Oh What A Day – Ingrid Michaelson
  4. Strings – Young The Giant
  5. I Might – Wilco
  6. Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves
  7. Beautiful Day – U2
  8. High Hopes – Paolo Nutini
  9. No Such Thing – John Mayer
  10. Something in the Water – Brooke Fraser
